Wednesday 25th November – The Iron Horse, Glasgow. 19.30
Music can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home but there is a great deal to be said for getting out of your house and seeing and hearing it performed live. Being able to see the artists and watch the impact that the music is having on others while you feel what it means to you is one of the best ways in which you can enjoy yourself.
With books? It’s not quite the same is it?
At Drone Publishing, we like to drone on about music and we’re not trying to change the Status Quo (we’re not even going to use the Status Quo joke at this point) with regards to reading and literature. We know it’s best enjoyed by yourself, be it when you’re wrapped up at home or on the road to or from work, making your journey seem a lot more palatable and tolerable. We get that, we aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel or indeed chisel it down and say that a triangle will fit your purposes just as well.
We aren’t trying to do anything apart from put on a decent night and have some fun. And after that…well we wanna get loaded and have a good time…we’re gonna have a party.
Okay, it’s a midweek evening which means that it’s a school night, which limits the likelihood of a party and if the weather keeps up, the only thing we’ll be getting loaded with is the cold…but still, we’re determined to have a great night as part of Book Week Scotland.
You can find us at The Iron Horse in Glasgow, which has an address of 115 W Nile St, Glasgow and the postcode is G1 2SB. The event starts at 19.30 so feel free to come along before this and get yourself settled.
And importantly, it’s a FREE EVENT. Yes, it will cost you no money to come and along and have fun with us. Three is the magic number and FREE is the magic price.
What else do you need to know?
Well, you probably want to know who will be entertaining you and we have a great list of music authors (and if you click on their name, you’ll be taken to a page with an interview with them):
There will be plenty of music chat, fiction talk, ruminations on albums, downloads and what lies in store for the music biz. There will also be live music from Paul Cuddihy and The Bookends so if the thought of chat about music and books bores you ever so slightly, we’ll have live music for you to enjoy. We’ll also have some playlists curated by Chris Reilly, so when it comes to enjoying some music on your night out, we’ve got you covered.
There’ll be free books available (availability permitting, if thousands of you turn up we may struggle to cater for you all) and we’re very much looking forward to it and we hope that we will see you there on WEDNESDAY 25TH NOVEMBER at THE IRON HORSE in Glasgow. Oh….and don’t forget it’s a FREE EVENT.
